THE END OF THE LIBERALS IS COMING
May 26, 1823
Ferdinand VII about Angouleme said: "My august and beloved cousin, the Duke of Angouleme, leading a brave army, winner in all my domains, took me out of the slavery in which he moaned, restoring my beloved vassals, faithful and constant"
Last Saturday, May 24th, sixty thousand soldiers and the same number of mercenaries crossed the cities and fields of Spain until they reached Madrid.
They came from France to put an end to the Liberal Triennium and return the power to Ferdinand VII.
It seems that there were 95062 men and they called them one hundred thousand, to give
a round number.
In this flowerish May and the struggle that we are living, the invasion of the 100000 Sons of Saint Louis supposes a good business for everyone, except for the common people that suffer its attacks.

"100000 Sons of Saint Louis arrive to Spain" |
The Duke of Angouleme was in command of the invading army. He had left France with his parents in 1789, due to the Revolution, to save their lives.
His army was endowed with five corps, unlike the Spanish constitutional army, which consisted on four corps of 20,000 men each. In total 130,000 soldiers, who were more than one hundred thousand. But the lack of organization, the low moral and short number of soldiers took the Spanish army to its failure.
The English aid that was expected did not arrive on time and only the National Militia offered resistance.
The liberals expected the French invasion and finally, with the defeat in the battle of the Trocadero, the Liberal Triennium ended.

I don´t understand what this news means, it seems a bit strange to me, that there isn´t video makes it´s difficult to understand it, and as it is now, I find it very boring.

To me of this news I like the organization, the photos and links that help to better understand the content but I do not think it is a good topic to make a news of this type and I there are some parts that I do not understand very well and that I think are irrelevant, I find it curious that so many soldiers are used to defeat liberals. The paper version i think that is good but could be more original.

I think the news is quite boring and it is not very clear how many soldiers were since the mercenaries are also soldiers. From my point of view the article gives a little concrete and specific information.
ReplyDeleteI would like to read a clearer and better written article next time.
I personally don´t know what to say about this article, i didn´t understand the information, with was most junk, but appart from this, the head test is really well done, as well as the paper part witch is very styler.

The narration of this piece of news is a bit confusing. It would be a good idea to include a video that explain something about the content of the news, in my opinion is not very well redacted and this is the reason because I couldn´t understand it.

I like very much the topic about this news, because the 10000 son of Saint Louis was a bit forgotten to me. I think you could have done the narration in another way because it could lead to missunderstanding but in general its a good article.

I found the news a bit extrange and confused but I liked the links which add more imformation, especially those that were videos, because they explained well the information and they were in English. I found curious that even being more soldiers than the enemy army the Spanish one couldn't win because of a organization lack The news is organinized and it has a correct layout

I like the topic of the news and that you talk about 100000 Sons of Saint Louis, but I don´t think the article is very well done, because it´s a bit confusing and strange and in some parts boring. I like its organization and the links, but I think they haven´t been able to interprete very well the subject.

I like how you have introduced the news with that Ferdinand VII's phrase, it called my attention. However, while I was reading the article I lost my interest as it seemed a bit boring for me. Even so, I like the fact that there are so many links taht help you to get involved into the context. It is strange and at the same time interesting that despite they were more, the spanish army was defeated. The paper version is also nice and attractive to the view.

I think it's a very heavy article because it focuses on secondary ideas that aren't important. The links provide relevant data although the news still seems confusing. The paper format is well organized.

I did not like this article much, is a bit boring and there is much information and it does not seems as a newspaper article and is like a class book unit. In fact there is a good use of English it is well redacted, there are also several links with information that were very helpful for me.
ReplyDeleteÁngela Alonso.
For me this article is not one of my favourite because it is a little boring because the information of the article don´t appeal to me. Apart of this, the text is organized and it has good links, too.

This new it's a good one I like the information you give abaut this conflict and how you have focused it. The only bad thing I would say it's that, in some points, it can seems to be quite boring since it doesn't say nothing appart from how this invation was, there is also none videos and few links attached and those kind of things makes the article slow and not dynamic.
ReplyDeleteFor me, it has been a bit confusing to read. There too much information and it is not really good organized. In fact, it is pretty good, it has many links and the photos are great. It is an strange article as well as curious. As a good point, it is really good written and the use of English is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteLucía Cuevas
I think that form of which you have narrated in a little confused, although the information is well, although some things seem irrelevant to me. You could said more interesting information instead of that. For me, the subject is not very interesting and I found it boring to read it, you could choose a more interesting topic.
ReplyDeleteI think the links have good information like the video of the revolution, but I don’t understand it completely. The paper version it’s the same for me: quite understanding

I think you could have written the new in another way because it is a bit confusing. The links are very good and help you to understand properly the event.

Hello!! The news is good. It is correct grammatically and orthographically talking but, I think that the subject is so general that it loses attractive.
